POSTAL RECRUITMENT & TRAINING CENTERS

Five regional Postal Recruitment and Training Centers are now being directly supervised by the training branch of the Directorate General, Pakistan Post. The main function of these PRTCs is to train the operational staff in all the work they are supposed to do in their respective positions.

Very recently these PRTCs have also been entrusted with the task of doing all the necessary procedural work relating to recruitment of postal staff. The advertisements for the vacant positions are issued centrally by the Dte-General but all the candidates submit their applications directly to PRTCs. Under a uniform and integrated policy the PRTCs finalize the dates of examinations and interviews, send call letters to the candidates, conduct meetings of Departmental Promotion and Selection Committees and finalize the lists of the successful candidates. These lists are then sent to the appointing authorities for issuing formal appointment letters.

Regional Postal centers have adequate infrastructure for imparting training and upgrading skills and knowledge of operative core. Each regional centre is headed by a principal who is assisted by a certain numbers of training officers responsible for identifying trainees and organizing and delivering customized and focused courses.
